I don't see

kidnapping kids, starving them, making another kid feed his crippled parents, making him watch them stab themselves with forks, Wong headbutting a guy until his brain is mush, getting ripped apart by a semi truck and kids ripping apart a witch

As tame horror. It's not 'Hereditary' but it's definitely not tame..

Mile in the Sky
Just got back from this shizznit

:unimpressed:

Some damn good direction and camera work. They way the music pulsated through the theater was also very well done. Nothing like the theater.

As far as the overall movie, its definitely worth a watch but it being some sort of masterpiece or new all time classic is a little overblown.

The ending is :gladbron::whoo::pachaha::whoa::banderas: all at the same time.

The way Gladys reacted was straight out of a comedy when those kids came running up those stairs. :dead:

And like others have said i yelled out "Get her ass!" Lmao

Definitely an 8/10+ movie that leaves you wanting more . That sound mix got me a few times, I can’t even lie. This is more psychological mystery horror than straight-up horror , but the use of darkness and some of the makeup/faces… the production team did they thing.

:russ:

This shyt was like a Grimm's fairy tale with a final girl type of payoff :russ:

No one has to worry about this bein “long legs “ :mjlol:

levels of trash but maybe I need to stop drinkin alcahol before watchin horror movies:francis:

Koz nothin on this made me feel on edge the whole way through, or made it feel like a horror :stopitslime:

Which is fine as I wasn’t really expecting that

I’m keen to understand outside of the gore violence what makes this a horror ?

“Bring her back “had a lot more elements of a horror then this di from suspense , anticipation of what was gonna happen next :hubie:

This bein structured very similar to barbarian also , makes me me question his storytelling ability in film , is this the only way he can deliver a film

( side note I have no issue with the structure and the way he tied it altogether )

I stand by 7 as a very good ratin , at no stretch, qualify as bein a shxt ratin or a shyt film:stopitslime:

But blassik ?? Maybe I have to watch it again , very good yes:unimpressed::manny:

I do feel I enjoyed sinners a lil more , and bring her back , but have no issue wit anyone wantin to place this above:ufdup::whoa:

And I also enjoyed barbarian apart from the endin , all In all

Def worth the price of admission, and when I think about it more I could see the ratin goin higher when I factor how well it’s put together

The ending once again didn’t really nail it for me but whatever :yeshrug:

I actually think it's the opposite way. Only a person who has had very little to no real life experiences could find this movie entertaining, because they don't know any better. If you ever dealt with the police for any reason, you would know that they don't remotely act that way.

If you got kids the age of this movie you KNOW they can't keep a secret for shyt :mjlol: . Aint no way he would not have said anything. Kids that age tell everything. EVERYTHING:mjlol:. I mean you can find countless criminal cases that were broke cause some teacher asked a kid why he been quiet all week and he says some shyt like "daddy hit mommy and then took her in a room and I haven't seen mommy since":mjlol:

If you got kids that age you know damn well before you say some real shyt you look around and make sure they aint in the room cause I promise you if you say some shyt in front of your 8 year old son all it will take is for somebody outside to say the word mexican or mexico and this little mufugga going to blurt out "my daddy said all the mexicans who voted for trump are going to get deported by trump.":mjlol:

Saying this movie made "perfect sense" is like walking through someone's front door directly into their master bathroom. :mjlol:
:what:We got hundreds of years of real life cases involving childhood abuse victims that say you don’t know a damn thing about children and their ability to keep secrets.

Walked in with no real expectations, only saw the teaser and some of the promotional stuff, nothing more. And I was pleasantly surprised, this was damn good.

The narrative tools got a bit dull in the middle but the third act just raised the stakes and the rating for me. Also didn’t expect so many funny bits. During one of the earlier scary scenes, there was someone talking to the screen like no, no, no but in Chinese. It was hard not to laugh.

I can tell by now Creggor just likes to throw stuff out there for interpolation but the AR-15 in Brolin’s dream kinda threw me off and I hate asking what was that in horror movies but seriously, :dahell: was that about?

Old witch kinda dressed like the singer from Deee-Lite.

He has an interview I saw on another site where he’s asked about that and he says he doesn’t even know what it means and that he likes that it’s open for interpretation:manny:
