Can you think of a more satisfying and fitting villain death in a recent film?

Also what was the point of the AR-15 in Brolin's dream?
For every one that is asking about the dream in the movie, here is the interview I referred to earlier.

There’s a surreal moment in the movie where Archer has a dream and sees a giant assault weapon floating over a house. Would you be able to speak about what that moment means to you?

I don’t know. It’s a very important moment for me in this movie, and to be frank with you, I think what I love about it so much is that I don’t understand it. I have a few different ideas of what it might be there for, but I don’t have the rightanswer. I like the idea that everyone is probably going to have their own kind of interaction or their own relationship with that scene, whether they don’t give a shyt about it and it’s boring, or whether they think it’s some sort of political statement, or whether they think it’s just cool. I don’t really care. It’s not up to me. I just like that it’s there.

What was with the black throw up Marcus had when he got possessed? No one else seemed to have that reaction. Just shock value?
Only thing I can think about is that he's the only one (unless I'm mistaken) who gets active right after being possessed. All the others have a slower "transition" time before actually attacking someone. Maybe they need to "digest" being possessed and "settle in" their new nature. Like the cop stays hours in the house before coming out to get James, and he doesn't throw up. Maybe that was by design by Aunt Gladys so that he woudln't throw up in the police car. But this all might be far-fetched tbh :hubie:.

Edit : I forgot Josh Brolin character also immediatly gets active right after being possessed BUT doesn't throw up. So I don't know. Maybe because he kind of has some violence in him, as opposed to Marcus who seems like an all around good guy.

Another thing I noticed was that at one point they're watching TV and they talking about cordyceps, I just watched TLOU 2 so felt like a nod to that. Plus one scene in class they're talking about parasites. Aunt Gladys is basically a human parasite.
they referenced parasites multiple times in the movie which was great. off the top of my head, her dream sequence (which takes place partially in the classroom), the actual classroom scene, and them watching the documentary about cordyceps. the movie should get nods, it was pretty damn good

Why do people feel the need to bring Jordan Peele into every horror movie discussion? :dahell:
Cause the biggest press for this movie was about his production company losing out on the bid for it. I think a lot of people think (like i did) that Peele was going make this movie when he was just going to produce it. It was Cregger’s script and he was always going to direct it.

Completely missed that part until nikkas here pointed it out.

was listening to the the ringer podcast interview with Cregger and it was hilarious how much shyt Fennessy was being too deep about and Cregger was just like nah, i wasn’t thinking about that at all.
He also didn’t think he was making a funny movie and was surprised how much people were laughing

He has a couple ideas meaning he knows exactly why it's there. Is it a political statement? Most likely, but instead he wants to do the whole leave it up to interpretation thing lol. I'm fine with it. Movie was piff so it ain't a big deal.

Thinking back, the most tense scene for me was......

when the mother walks out the house at night holding the scissors, walks up to the car window, then gets in the backseat and we're just waiting like :lupe: to see what she gonna do.
