Sinners might be the better movie by a hair, if only because of the epliogue/post credits scene.
But as a horror movie this is way better than sinners. the vampire parts were easily the weakest parts of that movie and we saw it 30 years ago.
but the horror parts of this movie will always stick wih me. from the kids running all weird or the possessed people runing after their target to aunt glady's hair stick and bell etc
The horror in this is.
It feels like this movie explains who snatched adam.
Or the guy who made america's most wanted. That rescued bizzy bone. As a child before we would cime to know of the thuggidh ruggish emcee from bone.

This movie fits into those same style.
of off the beaten path side projects. sam raimi had in between elevating to marvel. post book of the evil dead trilogies. Plus one of the first really good comic book movies.

I guess the governing head critics who have the ad dollars. To pay to spam the ad dollars. For trying to respark horror as the most profitable genre in a failing hollywood. That is now to slow in reception.
to listen to old marketing from three decades ago. Now i guess the head marketing and pr guards to snoberity. Have given in to that which they usually just gave the prestigous horror awards to an international film. That is likely a better resourced film. Remake or extension of an american hitchcock film or concept.

These things can have a steady stream of high quality thriller meets gore spooky horror films to profit on. Later on down the line. Yet if this does not have a boom like box office draw. Will this be the last time. Hollywood blows up and fully abandons their most profitable model in horror.
To be stuck with no clear distinct genre.
