I cant speak for other carriers but how did apple jack their UI when the iPhone came out before the Palm Pre for AT&T

The whole multitasking on iOS 7 is straight up from Palm and WebOS and its pretty much an exact copy. The Pre had where you hit the home button and cards with all the apps you'd opened popped up and you could scroll through them and flick them away to close them. The Pre also had real multitasking where the apps remained open in their last used state instead of refreshing when you went back to them.

I remember Palm having Apple furious back then cause you could sync the Pre with iTunes. That isn't even getting into the fact that Palm was one of the pioneers of what smart phones do today with devices like the Palm Pilot. hell back in 2002 Palm put out one of the first smartphone devices with third party apps and the iPhone didn't even hit till 2007.

Problem is the hardware left much to be desired. I had a $99 touch pad and it was ok..but
Touch Pad = fat chick with pretty face

Mannnnnnnnnnn I remember the great HP Touchpad fire sale of 2011 like it was yesterday, LOL. That shyt had the internet going fukking nuts because everyone wanted a table for 99 bucks that had good specs for the time. I managed to get a 32GB version and it was a cool device but chunky compared to the ipad and you couldn't do shyt with it. The apps were few and far in between and even tho some people were rooting them and installing Android. It almost wasn't worth the trouble.

Got to a point where mine was just sitting in a drawer so I put it up on eBay and used the $$ for an ipad.

But WebOS was smooth as fukk and eventually many of its strong points got taken by ios and Android.

It's insane that HP bought Palm and dropped the ball on that shyt because they could've slimmed the touchpad down to compete with the ipad but their pricing was ridiculous and it's the same shyt M$ is dealing with on the Surface.

Surface does look good and I bet the hardware is solid but the marketing sucks because M$ would rather tackle the ipad rather than sell the device on its own merits without mentioning the ipad. You can't beat apple at this shyt when 2 year olds can pilot an iOS device like a pro.

And the Touchpad felt solid IMO. Nice screen for the time and a super glossy back panel but it was some shyt that shoulda went head to head with the first gen ipad. The pricing was all fukked up and they shoulda sold it with 32Gigs minimum just to have the people feel like they were getting more than the ipad had to offer.

Is that the HP touch pad?? Nah, thats a garbage ass tablet! got it for Christmas & the damn thing didnt work! Returned it and exchanged it for the new Kindle...

Palm was doing mobile phones before Apple even thought of it. The Pre didn't really borrow much from the iPhone. Palm had a mobile platform with app distribution before Apple. The Pre also didn't even look like the iPhone as it was a slider with a physical keyboard.

Son u missing the whole point..ios THEN wasn't what it is NOW..and what it is NOW is ripped off of Web OS..and also..Palm been doing this touch screen shyt Smartphone shyt way before Apple...and the Pre wasn't shyt like the iPhone at all..shyt..ios came before android but that don't mean they ain't bite the fukk out of android the further the OS went..
