nikkas defending the standard 9-5 5 days a week work schedule is comical. shyt was invented in the 1800s by Labor Unions and popularized by Ford in the 1920s for car manufacturing. Before 90% of the core tools that are available to us in the work place today were invented.
Your productivity has increased but work hours have not scaled accordingly (decreased) due to capitalism, and not in the good capitalist way that will make you, the worker, earn more. The cost of living has gone up and inflation has ensured to keep in you in this spinning wheel cycle like a well trained hamster, meanwhile corporations and conglomerates reap the benefits of increased productivity and people’s unwillingness to challenge the status quo.
Normalcy doesn’t mean right. Just because you were born and bred to believe in the 9-5 5 days a week work schedule, it does not mean you’re not being exploited.
You shouldn’t be “scheduling your activities better”, you should be working less hours because you produce more than the people whom the 9-5/5 out of 7 work week was invented/intended for.
Work-life balance is damn near nonexistent, and you get labelled lazy for questioning why the fukk you are working the same or more hours than people in the 1800s. The matrix is rigged.
