I do shopping, errands, laundry after work.
What the fukk?!
If you get out at 5PM and are at home by 6~ you have time to bang all of that shyt out.
shyt, when basketball season starts I usually hit bars during the week. And, who the fukk is mad about Sundays? I'm hyped when Sunday hits because I get to chill and relax.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Sick time is one thing.

But the number one reason I don't use vacation time is so I can cash out on that shyt when I'm on to the next job (lot of times it ends up funding a big part of moving expenses/initial rent payment).

Granted, I have work obligations on weekends -- or whenever a team of mine has a game, since I work in sports information -- and I'm the kind of person where I don't see a point of taking a day out of the office if I still have something to account for whether I'm there or not.

That said, you're absolutely right. I know I have to do better in that regard.
and that's what they bank on... in your case, you're awaiting a payout when you leave. so at least you'll be using the money and it's not going to waste. and i hope you don't lose any to "use or lose" carry over. i know after 2 years of using no vacation here, you simply "lose" it aka don't earn anymore

but yea.... it's those people, who aren't waiting for a payout, losing days for nonuse, squandering away money/time off with zero benefits, while killing themselves for a job. it's a horrible position they put you in, giving you so much work that taking a day off is really fukking yourself over.... but dammit they ain't gonna kill me

I wasted a lot of time and money doing the same thing. Looking back it was a huge waste. I could have been doing memorable shyt like traveling. But, I'd rather waste $50-100 a night on overpriced booze and chasing hos. We've got this cultural thing that tells us that's what your 20s is about, I wish I was smarter with my time and who I spent it wiht.

Woooo :whew:

I’m 23 now and I never got into that cycle of turn up every weekend. Once you do it once or twice then it’s all the same. NYC to DC to Chicago. The chase is all the same.

No need for it to be your crutch.

I sometimes envy that structure and schedule of many others, who work 50 plus hours a week. It must be reassuring at times, and centering in a way.

Week day nights>>>Weekends
Going out to dinner or a nice live music spot with your lovely and not fighting crowds:whew:
The weekends are strictly for sleep and bullshytting with my lady(when she’s not at work)..
Good point...week day nights and during day and evenings are better...less cops roaming around for those who drink but I do that much less now.

People really need to start managing their time better. Every situation is a little different so it really boils down to what is going on with your life. Do a little bit of "house work" shortly after your work days so that your weekend is as free as possible. People tend to have a 60-70 hour stretch off from work and should make that time available as much as they can.

When I used to work 3rd shift many years ago I got myself a crock-pot and it's incredible how much time I felt I gained just by that small purchase.

I don't have kids so my situation is a bit different than most people in their 30's.
This is me. I keep a clean crib, so that's one less thing i have to be concerned about that takes up my time. Some people set entire mornings/afternoons aside to have a "house cleaning" :childplease:

Knocked out laundry right after work. The place was empty. Still had plenty of time left in the evening, plus my weekend is more open.

Time management is valuable in adulthood

It's crazy how many people I know suffer from poor time management.

How many people still do Sunday dinners and Sunday drives? Sometimes the simplest things can be the most rewarding. Gas used to be so cheap so it was never an issue but I can see how it could be for a lot of people now. Cost of living has gone up so much that people can't relax and enjoy life like they used to.
