Sure. Geno's problems right now revolve around timing, decision-making and (at times) deep accuracy issues. But in general all the problematic parts of his game have shown notable improvement. Even his timing has shown slight improvement (albeit he needs to show more), and I think that'll improve as everything else has.
Since he's an average QB he's not worth running the offense, regardless of whether he runs it better or worse than a younger QB. I'd rather test and develop Geno (or Petty as the case permits) than give valuable reps and experience to an old average QB.
Geno spotted blizes and threw to his hot read in the Raiders' game. If this is why the coaches are playing Fitz, they are playing themselves. Moreover we know coaches can be wrong. Tannehill sucks, and that moron Philbin let him get a 100 million contract and never stopped complimenting Tannehill for his horrid play. Gailey praised Fitz in Buffalo and was fired for it. The list goes on. Coaches are wrong all the time. Stafford has Megatron and he sucks too. Caldwell is going to get fired for believing in him and not standing on a tree branch screaming for a trade.
Geno's pocket presence has improved. I don't remember any significant backpedaling from him. He stood in the pocket and stepped up for the most part. Fitz is little different except he can't make as many big plays. As for reading a blitz, Fitz is better than Geno but Geno was reading blitzes in the Raider's game. He can do it, and that's part of the reason he made all those big plays.
Geno will probably be gone, yes, but then we need a QB.
