Drake is type cast at this point. He can't come out doing stuff differently than before because he's going to lose his core fan base. He either stays trying to be this generation's LL Cool J, or it's a wrap. I think it's a wrap however regardless.

Its seems like your boxing this guy into something you want him to be. Your really missing out on some great music.

As far as the thread topic:

I think being in the game a decade and being relevant musically plus doing numbers is a hard feat. Thats why I salute Jay and Nas. Nas in particular since he doesn't really do club/radio bangers often. Look @ where 50 was 10 years ago and look at him today. Kanye pretty much dropped an album without the normal mainstream promo/set up and still did numbers. You just really never know. Drake can fall off in two years. Hip Hop fluctuates sporadically sometimes.

You're not paying attention. Read what he said, he's balancing club songs + girl songs + relatable rap. He's nothing like LL Cool J to me. Drake aint for everybody but "it's a wrap"? Cmon now... Just say you dont like him. lol

nikkas are in here like Drake has EVER fallen off or can't basically hit the "smash record" button with ease :heh: . :stopitslime:

Basically, I mean dude has had some duds as far as singles go but he's never fallen off and won't anytime soon.

Talent will always win out. 50 was talented but relied more on gimmicks and his image. Drake is a legit songwriter and makes good music. He'll always have a lane.

I know they shouldnt

Common has never ever ever reached the pinnacle drake has

Common has always been the overlooked MC in any and every time period
Who is overlooking Common?

Do y'all speak for yourselves or those cacs from MTV that had you in your feelings the other night?

I think you impressed a lot of people when you went after Common. A lot of rap fans didn’t think you could get him.
There is a bunch of Common diehards who would never let you utter the words “Drake got” anything in front of them. I felt really hurt man. I felt like some injustice was done to me in a sense of we’re talking about Common, we’re talking a guy whose music I enjoy, a guy who I had never met, a guy who I never conversed with at that point. We’re talking about the guy outside the hearing impaired girl’s window with the sign cards with the love songs and he’s coming at me for being soft? That hurt me. I told him that. I’m like, “Man, you’re supposed to embrace what I’m doing. I’m balancing real rap with girl records with club records. I’m just trying to give people music to live with and for you, of all people, to attack me?” If Jeezy came at me and said I was soft, I would be like, “Yeah, I guess, probably.” It was just crazy for it to be him. Even when we linked up, it was like, “What are you doing? Why?” It was like, “I never met you? What happened?” I do know that when we finally connected in person it was like, “Yeah, let’s just dead it.” Which made me kind of feel like it was an album week thing, which it was, by the way. I don’t know if anyone remembers that—his album was coming out that week.

Yeah...common was lame for that.
The funny thing about it is that Common never even said the Sweet comments was about Drake until after Drake mentioned it at that concert. So technically Drake started the whole shyt by being extra sensitive about some random non specific adlibs on a Common song.

On a side note Sweet was a dope ass record

the best coast
:laff: at the comments in here. You guys can't be saying some of this stuff in real life can you?

I mean its not like dude is the GOAT but him some credit, damn. He knows how to put together good records that get popular. Not a lot of rappers know how to do that.

if i saw a black guy driving in his car with drake playing i would assume he's got a lotta white friends
