Calf strains only get worse unless you give them a few months to heal. I know he has access to the best medical care in the world, but look at what happened to KD when he tried to comeback early from one.

This game is too intense nowadays.
Either that, or people sit out as soon as they feel the slightest discomfort. Or a bit of both.

Back in the days mad guys played 80 game per year 6 years in a row then started to fall off and have serious injuries all the time

7'5" and moving the way he moves? I wouldn't expect him to be an ironman.

I just hope we get to see a few really healthy seasons + playoff runs out of him
I think they got to do a smarter version of the process that Philly did where when the time came to build a winner they had no idea what that looked like. In that they need to get young assets to trade for older really good assets that Wenby can come in and just take them over the top.

They got a good team but they need to build a winning team and then just focus on having wenby be as healthy as can be in the playoffs.

They don’t need to do it this season, but they should plan to start that process this summer

Knicks have a similar situation with Mitchell Robinson… they really need him to anchor their defense in the playoffs but he’s got no ability to stay healthy through the long season.

I’m not sure what the solution is if any
