It depends…. If a merchant has self checkout or kiosks, it essentially takes the place of a cashier….. I’m pretty sure it has in fast food restaurants

Taking fast food orders through drive thru was just ONE part of the job. This will free up the employees to go help in the kitchen and other areas so shyt wont get backed up.

McDonald’s already trying to perfect the automated store. Once they get the food prep fully automated, get the AI to take orders, do tap only for payment, profits will soar as you’ll only need like 3 people to run a store. The poor will get poorer…
