Follow up question,

Definitely saw quite a few AOTY nods in this and other album discussion threads, but none here

Is it the music itself that's forgettable OR the amount of music in general that makes almost everything disposable ?

If I’m going off what’s been in rotation the most for me either Pacman & Hit Boy album or DaBoii “Can’t Tame Us”. From a purely artistic point of view so far probably Westside Boogie. I wasn’t a big fan of his prior and still haven’t dove deep into the album but it is well put together. I’d throw Buddy in there too.

I think not having physicals now makes ppl not keep albums in rotation as long. And the barrier of entry is non-existent

This is a good point but would apply even more if we had only physical copies, I'm sure I'm not the only one that buys (a lot) of physicals but mainly plays digital.

As far the barrier of entry you're 100 % right, It's challenging not to shyt on these unoriginal biters and variants ...

I think back in the day buying an album and playing it multiples times made you convince yourself it was better than it was. And sometimes an album has to grow on you too

More than a few albums dropped recently if anyone has a new AOTY or just hasn't chimed in yet

Next week I understand there will be a few drops including Prodigy, last time I'll up this thread
