Music that isn’t ignorant

The only huge rapper that had hits with substance was Ye

2000s was the era of Crunk an Ringtone rap, dance songs

2010s had that too and then Trap dominated an everyone knows trap isn’t a genre that’ll promote something other than violence and drug dealing. Also Drill music was huge

And then it turned into drug addict music
You don’t know what your talking about

Tired of that weak statement/excuse.

That really only applies to rappers in the 80s and 90s like pac, mc eiht, krs one, even nwa or biggie.

But nowadays, esp when damn near all of these street rappers are really just street nikkas that just happen to rap, and lack creativity or any thoughtfulness in their lyrics, and they're brandishing guns in their videos.....sorry but you ARE glorifying violence.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Rappers love saying that, but when you listen to the records, it damn sure sounds like glorification to me.

The best example of a song that speaks on the bad shyt in the hood and doesn't glorify it is

Along the way, we got songs instructing us on how to make crack, celebrating the killings of other Blacks, slippin' drugs in a woman's drink, disrespecting Black women, etc.

That "broadcasting what goes on" reasoning is bullshyt

The funny thing about that video is that none of these new rappers would get caught dead living in those periods in Harlem lol.

But yea to your point it’s all an excuse to not hold any accountability.

Yea, always felt this was a dumb argument that rappers use. There's a way to broadcast whats going on in ur raps but most rappers go way beyond that.
