Man it's crazy how nowadays I can buy the games I want but can't really play em all yet when I was younger it was hard to cop a $60+ game. My parents didn't get what games were so they thought once they bought a gaming console that was it.

They didn't know there were several different games. Before I had my first job I had to scrounge up money from saving up a few dollars here and there from allowance. Sometimes my brother would cop games that I wanted if he was interested.

I remember this nikka copping a Gamecube with Batman Vengeance instead of fukking Smash Bros :stopitslime: I enjoyed that title nonetheless but I was seriously wondering if my bro was :troll: me that day.

I wanted Viewtiful Joe for GC once and skipped a professional haircut to save $10 and instead got my hair cut by my brother in the crib. Had a nikka looking funny in the light with uneven hair length and a unclear hairline for a week. Wasn't nothing worse than coppin a game and that shyt was ass. A breh was getting got back then at Gamestop because I'd rely on trade in credits to get new games. :mjcry:
Emulators and burned games held a young breh down back then :wow:

1.) We all were except for the few uppity types like @Rekkapryde who grew up outside of Tyrone in a little town called Moteasir

2.) Didn't you just sell your PS4 so you can take a c00n pilgrimage to Japan to perform in the play "Friends" as Marcel?

So what system did you buy games for :lupe:

Wasn't poor but couldn't get every single game I wanted. When I got into gaming super super heavy in middle school to high school in would average roughly one new game per month.

We was super poor, honestly I played most my nintendo games because of neighbors my mom only got me one at release because of qvc and flex pay. I basically had a nintendo at like 5 with only tmnt and super mario literally played those games for over a year.

Once I got a super nintendo that my mom got with a CC I played almost every snes because of blockbusters and rental stores. we had late fee's at every blockbuster in town before they started closing them down.

I played all the sega games because of sega channel, mom only got that because she said renting games cost to much.

All the money I got went to games and arcade machines... I've been a fiend every since...

Oddly enough, now I have games sitting around that I would have died to play for 1 hour back then.

Games dont grab me like they use too like I use to get completely immersed in them, now its to many rehashes, and attempts at the samething...kinda like movies. Even the new batman game...sure its good, but I feel like I did this 3 times already.

Playing mario and zelda games I never feel like I'm playing the same thing over again.

My family was middle class most of my childhood. But when pops got laid off, we was on the stamps for like two years.

I had all the og systems from Atari to super Nintendo. My moms was a department manager for Woolworth and she would always cop me the latest consoles every Christmas. I remember she use to always bring me a new ninja turtle toy or gi joe every paycheck.

Woolworth went out of business and my moms just became a stay at home. I missed out on owning the PS1 and n64 the first couple of years they were out cuz that's the time we was on welfare.

I do remember buying my PS2 on launch and busting my ass at a chicken coop farm at 14. I remember I pre-ordered it through circuit city. Even tho my pops got a better job than he had before, he basically told me he wasn't gonna buy me none of that foolishness. I smelt like chicken shyt for 4 months just to save up. The shyt we do for games.

All of my N64 and most of my dreamcast games were rentals.

PlayStation and PlayStation 2 were modchipped so we used to rent games then copy them. So games back then to us were just $5. Then when I found out how to download PS2 games and burn them. :banderas: It was open season. I was like 12 years old back then.

Remember Blockbuster "no late fees?" :banderas: Dumbest shyt I've seen them do, they changed that quick.

We got two games a year and played the shyt out of them. One for Easter, one for chrstmas.

We got lucky and a video game rental spot opened near the house, but that was short lived cause the owner was an a$$hole and said something my dad didnt like, my dad threatened to kick his ass, and we were banned from the store:beli:
