How do y'all get past his high pitched voice?

That doesn't bother y'all?

Is he like an acquired taste, like you listen to him so much that the high pitched voice doesn't bother you?
Basically. And I think he sounds better on short projects. I can't listen to him anytime and have to be in the right mood. Flygod was where I started and I couldn't listen to it all the way through at first because of the voice.

The crazy thing too is he used to rap in his normal voice. I'm not sure why he raised the pitch but I think his regular voice sounds dope.

This is maybe my favorite project of his and partially because it's so short. Get in. Get some fly talk. Get out.

that voice is amazing to me. original, clear, strong, distinct, slightly nasal but resonant, etc.. and he's learning to use it like an instrument with each successive project.l
That's a good description. Honestly when I listen to WSG projects I don't pay that much attention to the lyrics. I might get flamed for that but I basically think of his voice as another part of the instrumental and just kind of vibe out to it. I'm not saying I don't listen to the bars but I don't actively hang on every word. I just kind of take in the whole soundscape. That might've sounded like some stoner talk but that's the best way I can describe it.

good post overall but interesting at the bold my G. you ain't alone on this but i actually think that's his strong suit, that voice is amazing to me. original, clear, strong, distinct, slightly nasal but resonant, etc.. and he's learning to use it like an instrument with each successive project. fiends do the dougieeeeee is a prime example lol

good description, i'd say it's more raspy than clear though, kinda reminds me of a young shyheim. perfect sonical contrast to conway on tracks like lobos, they killed pookie, ray mysterio

My problem is not so much with his voice, it's with his adlibs. It's too much, to the point where it's distracting/annoying. Enough people like it I guess, but it keeps me from really enjoying his music.

I've tried giving Westside a chance a few times but everything about him just seems so extra to me, and not in a good way. Voice, rapping style, persona, etc. Conway ain't my twist either. Benny ain't too bad though :patrice:

Hmph, based on this, there's a chance he may have changed up cause he probably felt like he sounded too much like AZ, cause that's what I get when listening to this. Sounded really good though.

He actually is an acquired taste. I remember at first I almost wrote him off because of his voice. Same thing with 38 Spesh. WSG reminds me of some Wu Tang affiliate and that's the type of dirty and grungy hip-hop that made me fall in love with the genre.

It's not like WSG voice is unlistenable like Jadakiss voice is now. For me, any track 2019 Kiss is on is an instant skip.
