i'll clarify. they'll live very comfortably like any artist with a decent fan base. but we all know they wanna be much bigger than that. last year they was talking about they are doing better than tde, the got a loooong way to go business wise but i admire the confidence and wish them the best
No doubt.

I think Benny’s about to hit a new level of popularity with this new album produced by Hit-Boy with Drake and them on it.

They definitely wanna he bigger. Conway wouldn’t rapping about being on private jets with Kanye if he wanted to just stay underground.

Someone told me about the ......China album I gotta hear it but y'all don't think it's possible to have a great album and still not have an "it" factor? We know bars and stardom aren't synonymous nowadays.

if by "it" he means get buzz and have mainstream appeal. that can apply to all of Griselda.

yeah hopefully the core fan base doesn't hate on them for it but that's usually asking too much. it's the worst thing about rap "fans" tbh. they hate to see artists eat if it means switching up a little. also i think you put too much on Jay-Z cosign. idk if jay can even go platinum himself without kanye, a beyonce storyline, and a sprint partnership. you see mach hommy was his favorite before boldy. mach went from my most played album on spotify last year to his next project not even being on spotify and i still haven't heard it yet :stopitslime:

I seriously doubt he means mainstream appeal. That was never in the cards.

saying someone lost their genius is funny.

Boldy project with Jay Versace misses its mark. you can put the blame with Gunn on that one if you want since it was his idea.
its not bad, its not great, its just fine. on paper it should work nicely but it cancel's itself out.
After I heard Boldy say how it was made I put all the blame on Gunn. Boldy didn't even pick one beat on there. Gunn picked every beat ahead of time then had Boldy come in like a hired gun to rap on them. Boldy just went with the flow and did what he was asked to.

he prolly doesnt mean they will be drake perhaps, but what other way could it mean. These guys may be good but i dont see them getting gold plaques like that. And i cant see any other context "it" is used in this case

many "hip hop heads" and people of that Ilk like Griselda and their roster it seems.

So what other way could it be?

The guy criticizing them is a Z-tier underground rapper. And I'm saying that respectfully.

So I seriously doubt he's speaking in terms of mainstream success. Cats like that don't care about all that.

The "it" factor is vague as hell. He probably means some intangible x-factor that I dunno....makes WSG throw on a tap dancer at the end of a song. Or makes Conway write "The Cow". Or whatever. None of the 2nd generation Griselda team (Armani, Boldy, etc.) are as good as the main three but at the same time....who cares? It would be like saying Wu affiliates aren't as good as "OB4CL". While true....they don't have to be as good.

Daps for the always quality posting, but just in regards to the bolded: I respectfully think Boldy is far better than Gunn. :hubie:

I mean, I guess some people could say Gunn doesn't even really try to pass himself off as a rapper and people don't listen to him for the same reasons they'd listen to Benny, Conway, or Boldy, but still...in terms of penmanship and emceeing, Boldy's the superior rhymer.

Not a big fan of Boldy or WSG honestly. But Boldy is a lot more straight forward as a rapper as opposed to WSG who models himself as an "artist" and is willing to do abstract shyt.

Which (again, just guessing since anklejohn was so vague) could be what he was referring to as "the it factor".
