Yesterday I bumped this project but once I heard the Gang Starr album I just played that all day. I dove back into this one today brehs.
I really got echo the sentiments that it’s a gift and a curse because a lot of my favorite shyt on here seems to cut off as soon as it seems to get going. In particular the Gondek joint. And 2 of my least favorites on here (Banana Yacht and It’s Possible) are some of the longest joints.
And again I’m running this into the ground but Love U, the 2nd beat on Banana Yacht, and the Alchemist outro beat should’ve been rapped over.
But the stuff that’s dope is very dope. I’m not sure where I’m placing this in the Hermès series. IMO it had potential to be easily in the top 3 but some creative choices might have hurt it. Overall I like that WSG at least makes creative choices.
I’m very unsure of where I rank this in his catalogue.

Man...Lucha Bros really shows how Benny is able to make his style work on anything. Not only is that beat not his conventional lane at all (and is more Currensy’s lane) but it’s not even a beat you’d expect Currensy to choose for a Benny feature.
Despite everything about the production screaming that it’s meant for some relaxed and wavy lifestyle raps...Benny STILL hops on with his trademark aggressive style for not 16 bars, not 20, but 24 bars...and steals the show. And it ends up being a non-surprise.
Not only is he capable of sounding dope on different sounds but he’s got the sound to bend the production to mesh with his voice. This post was meant kind of jokingly, but Very few emcees can do that.
