Westside Gunn and Conway signed the distribution deal with Shady in 2017, and Westside Gunn and Benny the butcher signed to Roc Nation in 2019

I saw JBP interview with WSG and he said he was searching for management and was going to sign with RN or Shady, whoever called him first. he said he only wanted management. then he said Paul offered him a distro deal and he took it. he never said he signed with RN for management. I didnt see Benny on JBP but I remember Benny first interview on Vlad (July 2019) and Vlad said, "I heard you signed with RN" and Benny said "where you hear that at?" and then a couple weeks later he announced the deal, which was Aug 2019. Also, Conway was never with RN.

with this intel, there should be no doubt that Griselda got big off the Shady affiliation, by the time they signed with RN, they were pretty damn big already. Plugs was out 2 months before they even signed with RN. to boot, nobody even knew who Benny was til after they started getting on those radio shows....because they were transitioning bringing him in and disassociating with Mach.

ok, so you say Roc Nation is the reason. IDK. If they said they signed with them at the same time, then ok, but when they started getting the media appearances...I dont remember anyone saying anything about Roc Nation. I only heard Shady's name being mentioned. So while Roc Nation couldve been getting them the appearances, the chatter was all Shady. I will have to watch again...but that Sway appearance was one of their most popular ones and I dont remember Roc Nation being mentioned. I do clearly remember Sway asking them about Shady Records. I also remember every interview they were in them being asked about this. I heard about them signing to Shady in late 2017 but someone here said they actually signed in early 2017. The first time I heard of them and RN was August 2019 when they posted it on their IG. I always thought they had signed with Shady two years prior. I definitely could be wrong though.

"their increased visibility" AFTER 2019. my dude. I just watched the JBP part where Gunn was talking about it. he didnt sign with RN in no damn 2017! he only signed with Shady. he NEVER said in that interview that he signed with RN. he said he went from RN office to Shady office trying to secure management and Paul gave him a distro deal INSTEAD. I challenge you to find in the interview where he said he signed to RN 3 years ago.

the reason why WSG was at Shady's office in the first place is because he was trying to be managed by Goliath (who managed Alchemist, Danny Brown, and Action Bronson). You do know that Goliath is Paul Rosenberg right? Paul told WSG he would do him one better and give him a distro deal.

he signed to RN right around the release of Plugs which was in June, Vlad interview was in July. IG official announcement was in Aug. I actually thought this was common knowledge.
