I'm 27. My career just took off yesterday. I finished law school about two years ago and have been a judicial law clerk since then. Yesterday I accepted my first postclerkship job at a large law firm. Finally going to make some real money to pay off those loans. Hours might kill me though.

Congrats Breh!

Very good thread. Looking back I don't think my career took off yet. When I got my first "real" job at 25 I was happy because I went from making a little over minimum wage to $45K. It took me about 2 years to find me a job in my field (I.T.) after I graduated college. The longer I stay here the more I realize my career is stagnant money-wise. I like my manager but I think my company is on that :mjpls:. They promote diversity but I guess that don't count when promotion and raise is concerned. I always have gotten good review but pay scale haven't jumped that much especially compared to my co-workers.

Not sure if my career have taken off. Enviro consultant 40k salary not including mileage. Annual 10% raise but I'm not sure if this is the correct move.

Gather roun', I got a story to tell:

Found out about IT in 2013. Read a book for my CCNA. Never took the test doe :skip:

2015 got a part time job as a cabling tech. They was on some grimy shyt :dame: I wasn't having it so I got canned after 3 months.

I went to a temp agency cause I needed extra money. They had me sweeping water for 8 hrs in the baking sun at a construction site:what:

I vowed to never do no shyt like that again.:whew:

Took a part time job as a lab assistant at a local uni for 8/hr.:mjcry:

6 months later I got a help desk gig. This was 2016, I was 26 'when my career took off':ohlawd:

I'm 28 now and I do Cybersecurity.:takedat:

Enjoy the process. Don't compare yourself to others. Be grateful for what you have now. Your time will come if you put in the work.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
25. Bought a house and learned about building passive income.

That's not a career though.

Careers are a form of slavery. Your entire life depends upon a career until you get fired or laid off.

I'm about to go the rental property route. Sadly I turn 40 this year so it's something I neglected trying to do when I was in my 20's. I didn't buy my first house until I was 33. I'm about to get a home equity loan and invest in a 2 family house and build from there.
