It’s hard to chose between Johnson and Reagan. Johnson didn’t believe in reconstruction and undermined it from the start. It’s hard to conceptualize how much of damage he did.

Reagan was the culmination of the southern strategy and set the foundation to justify all our current racist policies.

While no POTUS has been a great champion, FDR doesn’t belong on this list, imo

Andrew Johnson by far. If he wasn't so forgiving of Confeds and resistant to the radical Republicans of the time things would be alot different today. A lot of the bullshyt institutional racism could've been removed, newly freed people would've had their rights protected and there would have been no need for a Civil Rights Movement in the 1960's

Lyndon Johnson got all that credit but it was Kennedy plan in his second term to get things even Eisenhower wanted done. Smartest thing Kennedy had going for him was the one person who was in the senate with him and had the power to stop (and did) any real civil rights legislation under Eisenhower was his VP by choice his real VP was his brother.

Lyndon B. Johnson without question....his relationship with dr king changed our community forever

the grassroots endorsed black leader, as well as the many black organizations throughout the country died right here, we handed the keys to our community over to these devils and they've had it ever since
