Coli historians.... how good of a president was Kennedy for black folks? I know a little about him, but I’m too lazy right now to look up info.

At the end of the day; any "trickle down" policies "for" black folks is a trick bag.

It's been that way since the New Deal.

Nothing that isn't directed towards our issues is "for us."

DACA goes damn near only to Mexican immigrants.

This is an example of direct intervention. And I don't think any President really has done it...yes, I'm including the Civil Rights Bill (which was for everyone but straight Christian prime age white males with zero physical conditions).

Anyone not saying Johnson don't know history.

He basically made it that no recovery was offered right after slavery.

That CAC was saying "get over it" a couple months after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Recency bias is a mutha

Trick Question, it's all of them

Thread gonna be filled with comments about a President who was "the less evil" and the "most evil"
This. The laws of America were created with a bias against black people. None of them will ever do anything purposeful to advance just us, but there are some that will try to help minorities, we just have to get in where we fit in.

There wouldn’t have been a War on Drugs if Johnson didn’t repress 100 years of Black progress.

Although Lincoln brought about the emancipation of the slaves and thus their legal transformation from chattel to freed persons, I'm not convinced that more progress would've been made had Lincoln survived seeing that his views on racial equality were not exactly progressive. Therefore, Andrew Johnson's policies that set to return the nation back to pre-civil war normalcy can't exactly be said to have set black people back because much progress had not been had in the first place. Blacks were essentially placed on level 0 with Lincoln. Andrew Johnson's policies simply kept them at level 0. So I would remove Johnson from my list.

As posters have mentioned, it was Rutherford B. Hayes that stopped the progression of black reconstruction with the Compromise of 1877 whose policies culminated in the destruction of places like Tulsa, Rosewood, and Wilmington, those of which were birthed during the progressive years of black reconstruction.
