Atlanta is probably the best example of a treadmill team. 7 straight playoff appearances...But overall, the team is just mediocre even with the roster changes over the last few years. They played Indiana really well but overall, most people have being a first or second round team at best. With the 2nd round expectations coming with Joe Johnson, Horford and Josh Smith when they were together.

the current blazers team is a good example. good enough to win a playoff series, but not good enough to win a title.

atlanta this season was one of the worst playoff teams ive ever seen. they arent on a treadmill. they suck ass, and just happen to be in the east

You're missing my point. They've made the postseason 7 years in a row...Thats the 2nd longest tenure in the NBA and what do they have to show for it?! 1st and 2nd round exits. This qualifies them as a treadmill team because they aren't doing anything to get them over the top, which is basically tanking and getting a lottery pick and hoping for a superstar talent.

Its the very definition of treadmill.

Yea um.....what exactly do u mean
Why would you post this thread without defining what a treadmill team actually IS? :dahell:

A treadmill team is a team that is an annual playoff contender but stuck from improving to anything more than a first or second round and out team. The joe johnson era atlanta hawks were a perfect example

I thought this was understood

he's talking about teams stuck in purgatory

"a land occupied by teams not good enough to compete for a title but too competent to throw themselves fully into lottery sweepstakes"
