DC is a strangely weak food/restaurant city. Go two hours up the road to Philly and


Edit: very much disagree with Lauriol plaza suggestion, that place is about vibes, not good food. In fact, most high rated places in DC are about vibes over the food.

I did enjoy bottomless brunch at La Vie and dinner at Fiola Mare. Casta’s rum bar was decent too and the warm shrimp salad at Le Diplomate is a winner. Gotta add O-ku in Union Market

If you go to DC and don't eat Ethiopian you've failed in every facet of life. Go to Dukem on U street.

The Red Hen is good Italian

and Jaleo if your pockets are like that.

There is vicious lemograss pho at Pho Viet on 14th street where I used to live by. Hole in the wall but damn good.

Howard China for chicken and mumbo... for the motherfukking culture.
