I would have to say the online internet. Forget a TV deal, do a online deal.
imagine that WCW or ECW netflix deal during their prime. both companies would still be around

Characters who are genuinely over who are pushed.
Thats it

Miss me with that internet talk when Wrestling was one of the first online fandoms in the 90s too and even then you had cats moaning about marks online (I see you Dusty at Slamboree 98)

And it aint like the storylines were that amazing (save for 97) when you listen to retro podcasts like the Lapsed Fan and Bryan and Vinny and they highlight how trash the segments and characters were in the attitude era. But they had Rock and Stone Cold over as fukk and were pushed so.

It aint got nothing to do with vanilla midgets or flippy shyt ruining shyt. Its 50/50 booking and characters going nowhere.

Anti-marks can disagree all they want but the reason many fans came back to check out CM Punk and Daniel Bryan was because they had intriguing storylines and some momentum alone with the great story they could tell in the ring. Can you imagine if WWE had committed to them without momentum killing ?

You just gotta find the dudes who are over and properly push them. If Enzo and Cass are liked cause of their promos build them in proper tag team storylines and not just being geeked out to Rusev and have them repeat their promos to the point of monotonness. Let them improv and switch it up like in NXT.

Its too sterile and micromanaged. The Wresting itself is the best its been in a long time maybe ever thanks to guys like Styles, Owens, even Cena, Rollins etc

But you need to build their storylines and build momentum
And they can still do it. Look how good trash like Braun looked in the build up to Mania with him crossing over and attacking others in other storylines.

WWE is at the mercy of their stockholders for one, for two they micromanage every aspect of the product to death, for three you have few guys/girls with unique looks and star quality. Nowadays everyone either has a beard or looks like a CAW.

Impact has no idea what it wants to be.

Storylines are wack.

Intensity, especially in promos. Back in the 80s and early 90s, when wrestlers stared into the camera and told you they were gonna fukk you up, they looked like they meant it. Legit mark-out moments actually happened back then.

Today, poorly written comedy is incorporated into almost every segment. It is impossible to take anyone seriously. Everyone always knew it wasn't a sport, but today they don't even try to pretend it's serious.

This of course is all related to kayfabe being gone and the Internet exposing everything that goes on behind the scenes. It had to happen, and of course it gives us a lot more to talk about, but the end result of all of us being in on the joke is that none of us get lost in the moment, even for a second.

Punk and DB low-key exposed the rest of these indy darlings, excluding Styles. They ain't shyt compared to those three.
A lot of people who use phrases like "indy midget" were calling guys like Styles, Punk, and Bryan midgets too. On the flip side, Roman Reigns and even guys like Del Rio and Ryback couldn't connect with crowds on the same level. But yet the so called "midgets" have had better crossover appeal. :sas2:
