Last year Westbrook was able to carry them to the 6th seed with a bunch of rookies, adams with no spacing and oladipo being hit or miss alot.

With paul george, an actual backup pg, and a decent 3 and D player in 2pat do you think they could make some noise in the playoffs?

Obviously not finals, but do you think they could hit WCF now?

I'm thinking optimistically, but I see them surprising everyone this year.

Second round knock out like Paul George has been for the majority of his career. Not bad but you at least want to be in that WCF talk but I can't see them fukking with Houston at the moment.
Russ is better than any teammate George has had though.

I agree them vs the rockets will be rough. But I like this team wayyy more than last year and I dont agree with them getting rid of beverly, I feel like cp3 will fukk things up imo.

But neither Russ or PG are signed past 2019. Both have POs for next year.
If they do well and hit WCF why wouldn't they re-sign?

Russ can have the biggest contract in history, and Paul George can play with an MVP and has stated that if it works out he wants to help recruit someone else to play with them.

I'm doubting this would happen, but given LeBron leaves, they'd have to be an option next year (this is all depending on whether they actually succeed and not get knocked out in the first round)

WCF, even though they matchup pretty well with GS having 3 players who defend the 3PT line very well and can stifle the perimeter (PG, Roberson, Pat), there's still not enough firepower in that lineup or on the bench.
They def need another scorer.

Defense wise they're set up as well as anybody else in the league.

I mean we know russ and PG can put up numbers in the playoffs, but that's not enough.

If they can wcf that's enough for them to re-sign and get a 3rd guy.

PG has been talking about going to LA for a minute. I don't think the WCF guarantees anything if they get there.

He's actually said his wanting to go to LA was overstated. If he cares about winning the lakers arent the place right now. Now in maybe 2-3 years I could see it. But LA with PG added makes them like 7th-8th seed right now.

If he just cares about LA then he''s a smart ass salary dump.

If he's telling the truth about wanting to win, then the thunder is a good place for him right now.
