Plan on picking up Souls of Black Folk after I'm done reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X. I still haven't been able to get a hold of Richard Pryor's autobiography :damn: if I can find it then that is getting read first.

Just read Souls of Black Folk first. Essential stuff on Black identity formation in America (and the foundation of his analysis, if not the outcome of it, can really apply to any hybridized identity attempting to fit into an essentialist, normative system of identity).

the Hadith, and various articles pertaining to the African Diaspora in Latin America. Some really interesting stuff I've been reading too that I thought about posting sometime. Did ya'll know it was African descendants (Afro-Mexicans) who freed Mexico from the Spaniards :whoa:

i'm not sure how in line the movie is with the actual book itself. the movie seem like its made for kids... just about the boat journey or whatever, but he's talkin about religion alot in the book.

Dreams of My Father - :obama:

The Myth of the Rational Voter (good read) it's about the pitfalls of collectivism in American politics when it comes to voting.
