It depends, I mean not necessarily but you do come across those who think if you do or don't have certain features you must be mixed.

Having a black person and a non black person ask if you are mixed because of the same thing for example hair, like they can't believe a person could look a certain way and not be just black. Maybe it's more misinformed/less exposed.

Seems like an inappropriate question to ask a complete stranger. I find it usually comes after a compliment like "You are beautiful. Are you mixed?" Followed by "Yes you are!" As if you can't be attractive and be Black. I've even had people get angry for "lying" about being mixed.

Most people think I am Ethiopian but I don't "looked mixed" in my opinion. I have a medium skin tone with locs. I am clearly Blacks.

Yeah it's inappropriate but I don't think it's c00nish unless they mean you must be mixed because you look too good to be Black.

In LA, dudes will ask you that as a compliment. I've seen chicks literally get wide open cuz a dude asked her what she was mixed with. Low self esteem like shyt.

I'm glad I'm dark skinned but I am part Cac and part East African. You can only see it in my hair texture

well, a lot of us know bw are complimented by appearing mixed. he might not even believe the shyt he's saying

Possibly. I get asked that a lot. It would be different if it stopped with "no". But when the conversation turns into that 'I'm probably mixed and just don't know it" it's weird.

Girl I had a man yell at me once because I would not admit it. I also had another tell me I was denying my heritage. :mjlol: IDK how some people mean it but I hate that shyt.

I wouldn't outright call them a c00n, more of some conditioning shyt to think beauty = nonblack features.
:ehh: Fair enough. But I hate that that's the first impression people give of themselves. I feel like it's not even worst getting to know a person after that point.

If one of the first things someone asks you, even before your name, is "What are you mixed with?" or "What are you?" does it make them an instant c00n, especially when you're not mixed?:patrice:

PM me a pic and I'll assess if it's a reasonable question to ask :mjpls:
