death row falling apart gotta be number 1
couldve been years of more classic material
nah they were on the verge of falling off.
them falling apart before falling off, was the best thing that could've happened for them legacy-wise.
1) What happened to DMX, not personally but musically. And of course the personal affected the music but let's keep it about music here.
2) Redman not having the proper backing. He was/is a great hip hop artist both lyrically and can make bangers.
3) Busta Rhymes & Papoose breaking up. They teamed up for a while and made super music together. Lost opportunity there.
4) 50 Cent & Game, same reason as #3
5) a-Team breaking up
1.) nothing bad happened to DMX musically. he had his time. he was relatively old for a new rapper back then, and instead of the standard 5-year superstar run, he had a 3-year run, but with 5 years worth of material. I don't know what more people expected? people compare him to where jay-z is at, but jay is all business & politics.
2.) redman was def jam. what more backing did you want?
3.) papoose signing with busta rhymes was a terrible move that killed all his momentum. this is the first time ive seen someone upset about their breakup. shoot, I didn't even know they had a fallout.
4.) 50 cent was washed, while Game was at his apex. if he stayed under 50's wing, his legacy would be underrated, rather than overrated like it is now. good move for game.
