Alvin Robertson...he once had 20 pts, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals. One of the best defenders of his generation.

Nate Thurmond...I don't know why he doesn't get mentioned with the great centers of the 60s. Probably the only player who blocked Kareem's sky hook:

Grant Hill...He wasn't underrated during his Pistons years, but people forgot how good he used to be once he joined the Magic. As a player whose career was ruined by injuries, Grant deserve more props and recognition than Penny and T-Mac.

Antwan Jamison...unfairly criticized and compared to his college teammate Vince Carter (their situations were different). Even though he was purely post player in high school and college, Antwan had very productive NBA career as more perimeter-oriented SF which is very hard to do for tweeners.

Tim Hardway...never mentioned for some reason.

easily the top 4-5 most talented PF of all time. just too bad he had to face kobe/shaq nightmare and then got hurt. #### ain't fair
I would actually put him in a spinoff thread. No one ever shyts on him for not having rings or MVP's, pretty much everyone acts like its criminal that he isn't in the hall of fame yet. He has been treated very very nicely by the media.

Its :mindblown: to me that Cousins is always talked about as an empty stat guy buy people always said Webber was a winner.

In 2004 they were 44-15 without him :gladbron:, 11-12 with him :patrice:. This is exactly what I'm talking about, because of name recognition he gets credit for carrying that team. Nobody ever mentions that they played their best ball without him. Yes he got his 20-10 when he played but when he was out, they still got that 20-10.

Tim Hardway...never mentioned for some reason.

Tim was sick with the U-Tep 2-Step. And after blowing his ACL in Golden State, he had success with Miami and made all-NBA 1st team.

I still think he had the best crossover ever. D-Wade pointed out in an interview that Tim didn't have to do it in a half-court set. He could be coming at his defender in transition, moving fast, and then shake his defender with the crossover.

Just asked my uncle this question(Just basketball).

Told me Andrew Toney & Walter Davis

Barkley was always very complimentary on Andrew Toney and said he was in awe of the stuff he would do in practice.

He was a beast before the injuries.

Tim Raines. He never got attention for his top notch baserunning in an era where Vince Coleman, Rickey Henderson, and Ozzie Smith got all of the attention. Heck, add Harold Reynolds too.

Isiah Thomas a top 10 player? Clyde Drexler a top 3 SG? :rudy:

Scotty Brooks, as a player development guy and defensive coach he is great. He got too much heat because of his offensive sets, but it's not easy with two ball dominant guys like KD/Westbrook. He's done a great job with Washington this year.

Shawn Marion not making an All-NBA Defensive Team in his career is absurd.

Tony Romo was a great QB, every metric points towards it but he gets nowhere near the respect he deserves because of playoff success.

Manu Ginobili sacrificed a lot on the Spurs, he's one of the best passing SG's ever, underrated defender in his prime, he'll make the HoF, handprints all over James Harden's game.

Sidney Moncrief should be in the HoF.

Isiah was deemed a top 5 PG all time until just a few years ago and had one of the best careers you could ask for :yeshrug:

Not underrated fosho

Media might underrate manu but players dont. Left handed guards all model their games after him or have said so, harden and d loading come to mind particularly

I'd like to add on this site it's Larry Holmes

From being in Ali and Tyson's shadow to being a punchline on the internet. A whole generation prolly doesn't realize he's a top 5 heavyweight of all time

Tupac ruined his legacy for hip-hop fans.
:flabbynsick:

He's one of the greatest heavyweights ever. He eventually lost his title to Michael Spinks, another guy who is underrated by casual fans.

I guess that tends to happen when you get massacred in your most high profile fight, but Spinks is one of the greatest light-heavyweights ever. He beat very good opposition in guys like Qawi, Lopez, Johnson, and was versatile. He had very good power but could also box awkwardly behind one of the best jabs ever (see below for that jab)

He was the first LHW champion in almost a century to win the HW title. And not just a titleholder, but the recognized champ in Holmes (although Holmes was aging, he started to decline I think in 83', two years earlier).

Being a top 5 all-time in a division is impressive enough, but especially so in a traditional division like light-heavy with more history behind it.
