The billionaire in China getting merked around it piqued my interest, ngl. But the fact that it won the Hugo, is being made into a Netflix series and they're using the same producers as GoT sealed it for me.

Just finished this book at work today.
Great book.
Touches on so many different topics, historical figures and events.
I'd suggest anyone to pick this up as it doesn't focus on Kareem and his basketball career very much.
It focuses more on the Harlem Renaissance and how that movement influenced America as a whole as well as himself.

quick summary ?
Takes place in China during the cultural revolution and into the future. They discover radio transmissions from an alien planet. It’s about preparing for an alien invasion hundreds of years in the future.
I only got through the first book. It’s a really dense read. Lots of hard hard science and physics. I told myself I’d pick it back up but thr was several years ago lol
