I mean daam.

How many car commercials you see with no money down.

Shyt, with 3k down, he can cop that 2018 Lexus LS.
I'm a first-time buyer, fam. I'm not dumb enough to buy a brand new car + the extra high insurance I'd have to pay. Insurance alone would be $200 at a minimum.

I should've given more information in my post, that's my bad.

Down payments are optional.

What car do you want?

What can you afford?
I can do a monthly payment of $500, but I feel comfortable with anything south of $300.

What car do I want? Something reliable with low maintenance costs. Preferably, something with a rear-view camera and bluetooth, if possible.

I'd look long and hard -- at least as much as you can as I don't know if time is of the essence here -- and get the best car you can find for the 5K.

No monthly payments, breh.

Bet.

I would buy a 10k car, put the 5 down, make payments over couple years to help build credit.

Thats probably the best thing you can do, depending on car and overall price.

Edit: theres good advice in the thread too.

And don't buy the extended warranty. It's a cash grab for dealers. Also if they try to stick you with a dealership fee for more than $200, walk away.

Matter fact call and ask what the dealership fee is before you walk in. You gotta come prepared because car dealers are scum and see black people as a lick.

At 705 you can shoot for a 2% interest rate. I think mine was a tad lower but I bought my civic 8 years ago (yeah it's still running with the same engine and transmission)
