Im thinking about going back to school. I know that I'll have to go to school for 6+ years to make that much out the gate. I need something to fall on, just in case I fall off, or run myself ragged. If a entry level job couldn't give me more than 85k+ a year, that's not the career I'm trying to get in (especially if I've decide to go to school for 6+years).
If you can't think of any jobs that'll pay that much out the gate. Do you know of any careers that pay 100k+ within 3-5 years.

I think anesthesiologist start off at 99k, but I also think anesthesiologist get sued all the time.

Certain Nursing specialties haul in 70k+

Physicians assistants begin around 90k+

Computer Scientists have a wide range but can easily approach 100k+ depending on particular field.

Sales. If you have a knack for speaking with people, you can get over 80k+ selling anything from Natural Gas contracts to medical equipment.

Oil Rig and related work can net you 100k+ if you have the physical and mental endurance to handle it.

I heard if you get a gig managing at a warehouse for Amazon you start off around 75-80k after bonuses. They also take most degrees.

Software engineering, with a bachelor's degree. New grad salaries in the Bay Area/Seattle are around 100k.

I just finished my 2nd year of my Computer Science bachelor's and was making $35/hr + $1,000/month as an intern, so that's ~$80k/year.

If you want to make that much, you will likely need to get into sales. What are your strengths? Some examples are pharmaceutical, advertising, and software sales. You salary might only be 50k, but with commissions you can do well over 100k. What are you trying to back to school to specialize in? If it's law, you will likely need to go to a top 15 school. Keep in mind, you will accumulate a significant amount of debt in the process.

It really depends on where you live.

If you stay in a high cost of living area like NY or Cali, then stuff like engineering or software development can pay 100k out the gate, but if you live in the Midwest or South then the same jobs will probably start off closer to the 60-70k range (but that 60-70k will obviously go further). Really, only doctors/lawyers/etc are guaranteed that much out the gate regardless of where they stay.
