I'm kinda in the scene these days, to find a DJ that scratches and can transition nicely is RAREA DJ that can scratch GOOD might make it today cause kids today ain't ever seen it. They wanna do something different and there you go.

Some nikkas literally just sit behind the booth and just blend shyt... No scratching no nothing
And dudes like the ones in the video, playing big events usually already have a mix ready and recorded... Or like others say, press play and let iTunes do your shyt...
I'm learning that being a DJ takes a lot more to it, especially an independent one
. I think alot of "DJS" today are just traveling producers. They def have a sound and make some dope shyt but they just play that shyt live I thinkYea I got a couple homies that do the scratching . My roommate is into battle scratching and breakdancing, so we practice scratch techniques. He's better than I am of course, but still not that good. His timing for scratches is off and it's morse like he's scratching to scratch instead of going with the song... But he's good at blending. I suck and blending but good at scratching on time and transitioning with scratches.Hell yeah, I was with one of my homies at a show backstage, I wanted to see what really happens back there cause the shyt interested me. Anyways, I had to wait until dude came back and I asked him. He said he only uses like 5 buttons the rest just for show.
If I found a DJ who could work the 1's and 2's I'd do my best to make sure that man(or woman I guess) goes somewhere. The craft is dying already,

U can still use Technics in conjunction with Serato..only thing holding back Technic is Panasonic for discontinuing the 1200 line..What good is a DJ if he can't scratch...........
For real tho....Technics are dead and only for vintage players.....
Digital is here to stay, whether you hate it or love it
