but hes right dirk was playing out of his mind. it seemed like the heat had to beat the mavs just to have to face dirk later like the final boss waiting at the end of a video game. i think it was demoralizing to them and it kept lebron in check psychologically in a way. i think the heat probably could have beat that mavs team but there was just something not there for them like they were already defeated emotionally

the only way i can see them losing is if that same feeling of demoralization or some kind of psychological break down could occur. good ball movement, rebounding, etc... its just not enough. there has to be that intangible factor.

:beli: nikkas need to stop making that Dirk performance more than what it was. He shot 42% for the series. That wasn't even his best series of that postseason. He was big in the clutch, no doubt, but nowhere near what mythology has turned him into. The key to that series was:

1. Bron being a broad
2. Bron being a broad
3. Dallas' role palyers stepping up

Truth, look im a mavs fan and even i know if lebron had played a little better we were not going to win that series.

Lebron was averaging 19 a game and we still only won by a couple buckets :ld:

Terry hitting that three on lebron was :scusthov: tho, terry str8 took his soul.

To bad lebron murked him in boston :to:

i think it still affected him. and that kind of scenario has to happen again for the heat to lose. somebody has to out shine him like that

Oh no doubt. Dirk in the 2011 playoffs was dominant and flat out historic. I'm not underestimating that aspect.

But come to think of it, you are right. I mean, Game 2 was just gut wrenching for MIA. Even though they won Game 3, Dirk in the next couple games just kept coming back and back.. even when he was sick.

And intangibles is probably what did it for Dallas..Miami had it last season. They were down 3-2 to Boston and had to get a W in Boston, a place where Miami had struggled before...and LeBron had his own historic playoff run last Spring.

I guess new year, new circumstances. But I just can't see anyone doing what Dirk did in 2011 this year.

Everywhere
Dominate big man and great ball movement.

Really that's it but no team really has this.

Well obviously someone will have to outshine Bron to beat the Heat, it's just gonna take more than what Dirk did because I doubt we will see another series like that from Bron again any time soon.

turnovers/taking bad shots will kill you. It's so hard to defend the paint from lebron and wade while still defending their 3 point shooters camped out on the line.

i really cant either. very small handful of players that even represent a ability to have that kind of bird vs nique battle with lebron right now and come out victorious. a lot of things a lot of teams can try to do, but if they dont have a player who is prepared to be able to come there and rip lebrons heart out of his chest that heat team is not losing
