As a Christian, faith without works is dead. Politicians who use the thoughts n prayers response to shootings are acting in bad faith. They have the power to do something and act on those prayers but they refuse to because they have chosen their political power over their faith.

People offer thoughts and prayers cuz that's all that anyone can do. People can say that banning guns would help, but guns aren't the only way to kill people. If you're a parent, unless you are with your child 24/7 and watching them at all times, there exists the risk, even if it's a small one, that something can happen to them. These sick people that hurt kids don't even have to use a gun to do it. Or a weapon for that matter. Look at all the kids that are physically and/or sexually abused, sometimes even by their own family members. Laws, legislations, thoughts, and/or prayers, or anything like that, isn't going to help when you have someone with a corrupted mind intent on hurting people, especially children. The world can be a dangerous place, and unfortunately people exist that make it that way.
