It's way too fast. Even if they added another 10 seconds or something or just really reinforce delay of game type tactics like they do balks, it could work. But they went hella far

I'm ok with it and even think it's good for the game. I just don't like looking at it. I wish it could only been seen by the players. There's no point in me an outside observer seeing the clock. It's annoying to look at.

Evan Longoria had a good suggestion though: if the batter's not ready within 8 seconds, just allow the pitcher to throw regardless. If you get called looking because you were out there doing a Nomar Garciaparra routine, that's on you, and if a pitcher's still dumb enough to throw a ball, then he deserved it.

I don't like it. It is what it is. If you grew up on baseball then 3 hours+ game sis what makes it basketball. You go, leave after x time and catch the score the next day or listen on the radio.

I don't think the problem was ever really pitchers taking long to throw. It was that they have all these goddamn commercials in between innings.

That said, what are the odds that 5 or 10 years from now, these 2 hour and 30 minute games that we might see now in 2023....devolve back to 3 hour games once the owners decide they want to fill the half hour they saved with more ad revenue?

You gotta remember, advertisers and the networks want people to watch at home. I’m much more likely to keep watching if pitches are thrown more often.

The stepping out of the box because the pitcher held the ball for half a second too long is ridiculous. These folks act like they can’t hit the damn ball without a whole routine between pitches. Why you need to adjust your batting gloves when you didn’t even swing the bat?
