It's in Nassau too fam...it just hides very well. I went to college with a dude from Baldwin/Merrick.
The cism is there, it's just subtle....Suffolk is just so far out they don't hide it
I know it's in Nassau too...but then again it's also in NYC and pretty much anywhere else in the country. I still think that as far as LI goes, it's definitely worse out East.
That being said, from my experience of Baldwin, people of different races seem to get along pretty well for the most part, it was very common to see mixed race groups of people hanging out.

Long Island is garbage. Everything is overpriced, overhyped. People are morons who claim NYC but its just a suburb like any other. Most live in trash 3 bedroom houses that cost $500,000
I live upstate so I've been there enough to form an opinion. Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens I love but it stops there. They should just break off and be their own state or sink into the ocean. We'd all be happy to wave goodbye
The points you made about the houses & overpricing/hype on Long Island are spot on, but no way someone from upstate NY should claim "we" when talking about NYC/Queens VS Long Island.....that's actually laughable
Bc I called you out of being from upstate you'll probably claim "Queens/BK", but your OP said "I live upstate so I've been there enough.....", so save it. You can criticize L.I. all you want, but when your from upstate you shouldnt claim "we" when talking about majority NY feelings towards LI like your part of the boroughs.

Back when I was doing home renovations with these two Italian dudes all over nassau we went to this pizzeria in Baldwin, dudes told me to go in and place an order while they sorted out the truck... I went up in there and the guy behind the counter ststraight up ignored me...I knew what it was so I went to go take a piss. come out and dudes I was with came in and was like did you order? I said na your man over there acting like I'm invisible
they spazzed on him and we got free food, but I honestly didn't even feel like eating their food

LI sucks badly. Suffolk is racist as hell and has the nerve to be white trash and ghetto at the same time. I used to get shipped out there to my grandmothers for the summer. All we did was fish and go to church.
