Its a lot of dumb docs. Its called "practicing" medicine for a reason. A lot of em just guessin and sh1t.

Its def alotta dumb docs. But not book dumb. I did USMLERx 3500+ Qbank x 2 Kaplan 1500 qbank x 1.5 and USMLE World Qbank x3 over the course of 2.5 years to buss a 250+ STEP 1 score my nikka....and that shytted on my MCAT score which was 34+....nikkas really gotta put alotta work to slay that shyt....i took the SAT 4 times just to buss a 1300+

Had a nikka feeling like a idiot...specially when my white classmates was bussin 1400+ off the Kaplan and shyt. Felt like a dumb c00n ass nikka when I got that first 1040

But that GMS got me a free Ivy education...and then sheer will power got me an Ortho Surg res and now hopefully I match in Cali...Slay open a priv practice and then eat well for life


Long story short, pure intelligence is not the end all be all. Sometimes, albeit, only sometimes, sheer will power can go far.

If im spending my freetime memorizing the various vascular pathways to your long intestine, staying overnight on 30+ patients on colorectal from whom i just got pass off on a brand new intern the night before, presenting novel cases following 30hr call at morning conference, and then subsequently drafting a paper on said case only 2 get 3rd author then forgive me if I dont have the time to google likely unreliable sources on salary data

No docs talk about salary and its highly, highly frowned on to discuss salary even with mentors

Ive found the only way to get reliable salary data is to peg 2nd year fellows who are in the process of applying for Attending positions, following long cases when they a lil loopy and more likely to talk that real

The book The Millionaire Next Door said that both doctors and lawyers are horrible at personal finance. High salaries and little wealth. I once saw a cardiac surgeon in his 60s on TV. The surgeon had gotten scammed by a Nigerian prince. The surgeon lost his retirement savings which was only about $250,000.
