Magic in '81 First Round facing a 40-42 Houston Rockets team. The Lakers were the FAR better team winning 54 games despite Magic only participating in 37 regular season games. Magic averaged 17 points on 38% FG in the series.

Some NY Times quotes from the series...

"Johnson seemed hesitant and ineffective, far from the confident and joyous youth who took apart Philadelphia as a center last year when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was injured in the championship series."

"Johnson turned in a dreadful performance, making two of 14 fieldgoal attempts and six of 11 foul shots, including two missed free throws with 30 seconds left that would have greatly affected the outcome. Fifteen seconds later, Mike Dunleavy hit a 15-foot jump shot that gave the Rockets the lead for good."

After the Dunleavy jumper, Magic took one of the worst game tying shot attempts ever a pathetic air ball leaner from midrange. He divided the team by calling out teammates saying they were jealous of his success.

Magic is the guy they called Tragic Johnson after once again choking away the '84 Finals

Wilt Chamberlain in his day was known as a choker...

1973 NBA Finals

Lakers had HCA but lost the series in 5 games. Lakers lost by 4 points in Game 2 in which Wilt shot 1-9 from the freethrow line. Wilt put up 5 points in Game 3 which the Lakers lost by 4 points again. In Game 5 Wilt shot 5-14 from the freethrow line. This capped off Wilt's 5th series loss with HCA to end his career.

1962 Division Finals
Coming off his 50.4 ppg season, his PPG in the Playoffs dropped down by 15 points. In Game 7, Wilt was the 4th leading scorer with 22 points in a loss.

Wilt's FT shooting for the series: 22-48 (45.8%)

1961 Division Semifinals
Wilt's Warriors had HCA and were facing the 38-41 Nationals. The result? The sub .500 Nationals swept Wilt's team 3-0. In an elimination Game 3 Wilt shot 7-14 from the freethrow line in a 3-point loss.

Wilt FT shooting for the series: 21-38 (55.3%)

In '81, Boston won the title and Cedric Maxwell not Bird won Finals MVP. Why? Because Bird averaged 15 points on 42% FG and even had an 8 point game and this was against a sub-.500 Houston team one of the worst to make a Finals.

Kobe in '04. The Pistons purposely gameplanned to let Shaq get his and get in Kobe's head so he could shoot them out of games with inefficient perimeter shots.

It worked as Kobe averaged 22 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists on 38% from the field and 17% from 3.

Truth.....but most these fools don't understand this. Most these clowns ain't been watching basketball for more than 7 or 8 years.

You moving the goalposts foh nikka

Magic didn't have bad "games" that was a horrendous SERIES. I didn't give you examples of "bad games". LeBron has never lost to no under .500 team in the first round, he's never lost in the first round period. Stop with the semantics.

I gave you Wilt dating back to 1962 his 50 point season through his PRIME. He played with Hal Greer, Billy Cunningham, Paul Arizin other HoF's he wasn't the only offensive option goofy. He was a notorious choker who lost with home court 5 times and played under his season averages in the playoffs and choked games at the line. LeBron can't shoot them either? You comparing a 74% FT to Wilt. He's lost very few games at the line. You a dumb ass.

Magic couldn't post 5'9, 6'1, and 6'3 defenders in his choke.

Oh bu bu but they had rings they played with HoF teammates from the jump dumb ass they didn't come into the league with fukking Darius Miles and Ricky Davis of course they had rings. How you talking context when you ignoring the shyt ya self to shyt on Bron?

Your mind is already set and you a biased mothafukka so what's the point here. You wrong period history shows you that period.

Breh these fools straight up retarded. But great info and post.

LeBron absolutely has a killer instinct

People just remember the bad more than the good

When 6'8 250 pound LeBron is being single covered by jj barea in the finals and he passes the ball, it stands out

When LeBron takes a paycut so he can play with two stars then predicts 8 rings, only to lose to a team with one star while being the 5th leading scorer in that series, it stands out.

Looking at percentages without context is nerd shyt

The thing is breh it is so selective. Jokers on here can suck off dirk but forget his 7 foot ass coming up short and scoring less than 20 in games vs the warriors (a bunch of midgets) in the playoffs.

Or how his ass was punked by david west in the playoffs vs NO.

Or how he called out dampier's toughness and terrys intelligence in the playoffs vs the suns. But his coward ass would not guard Stoudemire and Avery Johnson had to put mothafukking Mike Finley on Stoudemire when dampier was in foul trouble.

Dude talking about magic scored 17 on 39% FG

He must not remember lebron vs the mavs

Exact same numbers :mjlol:
LeBron averaged 18 on 48% FG, goofy :umad:

Magic lost and performed like that in the FIRST ROUND against a 40-42 team. LeBron faced Dallas that won 57 games and ranked top 10 on both ends in the season. Dallas that SWEPT Kobe and the defending champs, and then took out Durant in 5 who shot 43% against them.

Lebron was more efficient and it wasn't a first round loss. This is more like if Lebron lost against the Pacers and averaged 18 PPG and less efficient

You're 100 percent right

For every time lebron looked scared or timid he has 4 or 5 times he looked like a killer.

I mean sh*t, dirk didn't play well in every finals games, but dudes have re-written history and act like he had an Olajuwon type performance.

Side note, but I didn't hear anybody talking about how timid paul George was looking

Can u link where he called out Dan pier and terry?

Take a lot of shots, keep shooting even if you're playing horrible, DO NOT pass to a wide open teammate who is shooting the lights out EVER on the last shot even if ur triple teamed and he's having a career game, and last but CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, this may actually be most important, do all of this with a mean look on ur face. If u can get ur sneaker company to do a PR/ marketing campaign relating u to a ruthless deadly animal, well then you're really well on ur way to being an assassin out there.

On some of these posts yeah you guys are right. Not everyone can display that killer instinct all the time. How were some of LeBron's compared to players remembered though?

I don't think it's a symptom of the times. I don't think you could deny that players like Kobe, Dirk, even someone like D Rose prior to injuries had killer instinct. Wade as FT hunting as he was I still felt he had it over LeBron.

I think it's definitely something with LeBron. My two cents in terms of actual thought and not a goofy pun play-hate post.
