Peace of Mind -
The snowstorm continues to mercilessly beat against the every window in the 5 room brownstone; a battle the forces of nature will not win tonight. As he stares through the living room windows, David saddles deeper into the black recliner with an expression that seems to acknowledge his respect for and victory over Mother Nature. The family and personal car secured in the garage, every window in the home shut securely, and his children sleeping soundly in their rooms seem to make the hot chocolate he's sipping taste that much more satisfying.
1. 2. :. 0. 4. A. M. Those symbols display on his watch, simply noting the now. They are just numbers and symbols not connected to any mandatory time to sleep needed in between the now and a morning time to get up and push through the brutal cold to get any particular job where another human being writes his checks. As he unstraps his watch, he soft-footed walks upstairs to the master bedroom where his wife of 10 years is peacefully sleeping; a smile on her face as she's lost in her own thoughts with no bad dreams induced by the usual stresses that tend to befall a woman juggling being a mother, wife, and small business owner.
For a moment, he just stares at her, reminiscing about the beginning of it all when their shared universe's big bang of creation started with simply a childhood crush. As he quietly lays down in the warm, inviting bed, his eyes close and he smiles to himself. Before the smooth drift into sleep, he thinks about this quiet, warm happiness and looks forward to writing a short piece on this feeling tomorrow.
Maybe, he thinks, one of the 2 million readers who've purchased his books will find their own happiness as a result.
He sleeps.

The above is what I'm trying to push towards as a goal within the next 5-7 years. It doesn't say much, but there is ALOT that could be extrapolated from it about what I have and what I don't need to have peace of mind.
Comfort, security, health, legacy and family.
