Listening to some old Junior Mafia (White Chalk) after writing to this Pound Cake instrumental... it's like night and day.. even the "trap" music of today isn't that hard hitting, but still melodic production like No Limit and Cash Money back in the late 90s

so simply... which era had it the best? and yes we realize that sampling laws really give the 90s and 80s an edge...

Early 2000s when the neptunes had their run. I believe production was the best when their was live instruments without all the 808s being in the forefront. That being said present day production isn't bad at all, but everything sounds like u may have heard it before

i was gonna say, the music of today is loud, yes but it doesn't Pound like the older music does. the kicks on most songs before 2006 are louder than the bass lines of today's songs

the mid-80s takes this.

all this stuff yall yappin bout, the mid-80s excelled at most of it, all in one sitting.

an example was already listed and credited to another era.

those death row samples :mjcry:

when did we start giving eras credit for str8 samples?

give the mid-80s their beat back.
