Reparations argument should go a step further. Black folks should seek reparations from the African countries that uprooted us from our ancestral home sold us to white people. Let's see how far that would go.

I agree but Which ones? With the exception of liberia and Ethiopia, none of them existed prior to the 1940s. The only reason a claim against the US stands is because it has existed as a single unified entity( except for brief period between 1861-1865) for 250+yrs.


If you could somehow trace the specific families/clans that did it, then taking a claim to Africa would be doable. I recall reading an African history anthology a few years back by Cheikh Ante Diop that listed specific families/tribal groups that were either fighting slavery or actively enslaving others. That might be a good place to start.

HR 40 was introduced 2 years after The Civil Liberties Act was signed (Japanese/Aleutian reparations). Call me crazy, but I’d like to imagine that the bill was modeled off of theirs. Both called for a study. AB3121 is modeled after HR40 and also called for a study. It’s now a bill. Black Californians will soon receive reparations.

My bad...i didn't know all the details were ironed out already.

Did Congress already come to an agreement on how they're going to qualify Black Americans for reparations?

Did they agree already on the method of payment?

Did they agree on an amount?

Did they agree on a timetable?

And I'm sure there are even more questions than that for them to iron out...

If they already got those answers and studies in writing feel free to inform me.

If not then it's something they gotta study and create a plan for.
