It’s more nuanced than just metabolism affecting weight loss. Professional boxers are some of the fittest people in the world, burning thousands of calories a day, and once they reach a certain age cutting weight becomes harder to do.

I think it’s far more important to concentrate on a healthy weight that allows a person to be pain free with no hindrance in mobility.

Can you break down what you do for intermittent fasting ?

Download “Fastic” App for iPhone to track fasting hours, water intake, steps etc.

I fast 18 hours a day (9pm - 3pm)

I eat within a 6 hour window (3pm - 9pm)

I’ve skipped days and been fkexibke with time so dont trip if you fukk up. Listen to your body and get back on it the next day.

I drink at least 110oz of water a day to keep digestion on max levels

After my afternoon fasted workout, I’ll break my fast with a protein shake, good size bowl of vanilla or strawberry greek yogurt, cut up strawberries, 60% Cacao chocolate chips, peanut butter protein granola for my sweet tooth post workout snack.

Dinner is usually chicken/steak/salmon, veggie, pasta, etc. WELL seasoned, sauces, etc. I don’t compromise on taste. Also will have dessert (crumbl, ice cream, cinnamon roll, etc). And may even snack on cheezits after as long as its within my 3pm - 9pm window.

Its helped reduce calorie intake and reduces your appetite. Its also better because i eat whatever i want but just not a lot of it. (Rarely fast food btw but will have fast food every once in a while)

Fasting, Walking 10k+ steps a day, gradually worked up to working out and aiming for a gallon of water a day changed my life.

Give it a shot and thank me later

P.s. Also follow this IF subreddit. Hella inspiring

Besides metabolism, your body doesn’t recover like it used to back in your 20s and 30s. I still lift and run at the gym but I also noticed that I get aches and pains more easily now and they take a longer time to heal. And priorities with work, family, love life and other issues also contribute with having time to stay healthy.

I started doing something similar

I eat between 7a-3p I have a shake at 7am and another shake at 10:30 and then food around 130ish. I drink a gallon a water a day and now I’m starting to do cardio 4-5 times a week.

For men, your testosterone lowers and metabolism slows down the older you get...

In other words you have to work harder to achieve the same results you had in your 20's...

Depending on how much your T lowered, you may even have to go on TRT...

That would be kinda weird since im the coach. :mjlol:

And going from having multiple days at the actual gym to sneaking in 20 minutes of jump rope IS NOT going to keep your body the same. Thats foolish.
You ain’t coaching shyt

Where It’s Not Safe
Lol my dad has been cut/in great shape his whole life. Still has a 6 pack.He is 67 & gets mistaken for younger. And he prioritizes his health.

I ain’t tryna hear all that. Motherfukkas just be lazy, I see it at all the time at work (grabbing food at lunch, sitting down, not excercising, poor food choices). Then they try to shame YOU for being in great shape. That’s the funniest part.

Peoples poor choices just catch up to them.

Most people 30+ are set in their ways. If they were a lazy sack of fat before, then that's probably how they are going to be. It's an excuse.

Has nothing to do with health or body changes. The human body doesn't suddenly change how it operates after 30 years. 70 year olds can still lose weight. People just like to tell themselves that their body, metabolism, thyroid, etc are all the reasons they are overweight. Nope, stop eating and drinking like shyt and go for a walk.
