Ainge mismanaged the books and had to trade down from the #1 pick to save a couple mill for that max slot they still don't have

After next year's draft the Celtics will have the same amount of top 12 picks on their roster as the Sixers do, without all the 50 plus loss seasons to acquire them.

Ainge :win:

Paul George Rumors: Celtics Rejected Offer Included 3 1st-Round Picks, Starters

What is Ainge doing?
What are the Pacers doing?
:picard:

The Indiana Pacers reportedly turned down a bounty of draft picks and players from the Boston Celtics on draft night in a proposed package that would have sent Paul George to the reigning Atlantic Division champions.

According to ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman and the Boston Globe's Adam Himmelsbach, the Celtics offered three first-round picks and two starters in exchange for George at the 2017 NBA draft on June 22.

Pacers Were Offered Gary Harris In Three-Way Paul George Trade - RealGM Wiretap

'The Pacers were seeking Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart and multiple picks from the Boston Celtics. The Celtics weren't ready to finalize that deal with multiple picks as they wanted to sign Gordon Hayward before moving on the George trade.'

If Indy got impatient and took a garbage offer from OKC instead, that's on them not Danny.

Celtics were always in a position of having to sign someone before trading. Indy couldn't wait another few days? fukk em.

Crowder, Smart and any first round picks is >>>> Oladipo and Sabonis.

Reports said that Ainge didn't even want to offer the #3 straight up for Jimmy

Celtics Have Yet To Offer Brown, Tatum, Or Either Brooklyn, LAL/SAC FRP To Pacers - RealGM Wiretap

Folks must forget how bad the Celtics were when they started their rebuild. It was rondo and bums (admittedly ainge should've traded rondo sooner)

They were tanking for Wiggins and got porked in the lottery. Stevens being an elite coach has tricked people into thinking they can win now

Get ayton/Porter (or both) next year and this is moot
Ainge will trade down and pick up a pick :mjcry:

the pick that ended up being #1 was not part of the deal, casual
The offered 6 picks including 4 1st rounders to Charlotte. I'm sure Riley could have shaken them for more if he wanted to :manny:

According to sources, the Celtics' final offer to the Hornets was a package featuring as many as six draft picks, including four potential first-round selections
Look, B im just teasing but since i do like Winslow to some degree but the thought that we could have had all these picks for him still lingers in my mind since we have been going through a period of not having many picks to work with. Yeah i know hindsight is 20/20 and all but just saying

Ainge :win:

And still not one potential top of the league player you need to win titles
