Well, Russell Wilson doesn't have a bunch of bad tattoos, doesn't look like he's ever used or abused drugs, doesn't obsess over meaningless material shyt like being a sneakerhead or define himself with expensive high end fashion labels or hypebeast shyt, doesn't claim to have grown up in the hood, doesn't rep a hood or gang, doesn't promote the criminal lifestyle while shytting on honest hardworking people, doesn't claim to have a hard uprbringing, doesn't portray himself to be tough or reckless, doesn't act like he'll severely hurt or kill you for looking at him the wrong way, doesn't spread negative energy by engaging in petty beef with people he doesn't like over ignorant nikka shyt, doesn't talk like he dropped out of school in Kindergarten etc. Its sad that the opposite of this behavior is seen as the norm and no one questions "the culture" without being ostracized like Bill Cosby. As if being a "real nikka" as its defined in the streets won't have you dead, in prison, the insane asylum, hospital or rehab in no time. Like ingesting deadly addictive poison, making yourself unemployable by refusing to get an education or learning marketable skills, making yourself a pariah in decent society by getting tats on your damn face, engaging in reckless illegal behavior (i.e. selling drugs and carrying unregistered guns with bodies on 'em)that can get you locked up for the rest of your life daily if you "slip up" and get caught just once and being ready to die or kill over a city block the government owns makes you "real". Yea it's different nowadays. A lot of parents want to give their kids the best chance at attending college nowadays. You might have two doctors who will push their kids into sports early on so that he or she can get a scholarship as a student athlete at a prestigious school like an Ivy league of Stanford (on top of doing well academically). Back in the day the same parents would just make sure that their kid did well academically in order to attend a university like an Ivy.

It’s not like that 99% of the time, trust me.
Football players, especially, aren’t jumping out the gym after AP/IB classes at the vast majority of schools. While there are definitely schools where the programmes keep the athletes academically inclined, most are average and even slightly-below average.
This fluctuates depending on the sport, but it’s really not like that.

But so many are conveniently leaving out the fact, or may not know, that it was HE who pursued ultimately won over Ciara. We tend to assert some naivete on his part, but he knew what he wanted---she was his dream girl growing up, and he went out, put work in & and got her. Folk also tend to overlook the degree to which Ciara 'hit the wall' She may not have had options like equally 'ran thru', non BA women ie : J/lo.Rihanna(stigma unfairly attached to Bw is another topic) but she definitely still had a few good years in her before she was forced to settle for a simp....Russ in actuality upgraded her, majorly.

I think he sold himself short with Ciara, but if you respect or admire Future more than Russel and you are over 18 years old you're an idiot. Future is a fake drug addict with about 40 baby mamas.
