"The idea behind that was they wanted me to come up with a name that had meaning in Gaelic, which is the Irish language, and I had come up with a few things. But Balor is the one-eyed demon king in Celtic mythology. So it kind of tied in with what I was doing with The Demon. Finn... There's a Celtic folk hero called Finn McCool, who was the Balor's arch enemy, so he was the babyface. Also, my dad's name is Finnton. Everyone calls him Finn. So we had a short list of names and I'd kind of looked into Finn extensively. Because it kind of tied in with Balor and then obviously a lot of people called my dad Finn it was a no brainer."

Ones i weote are are most notable having good gimmicks even if names are shytty

I think they purposely set Biff Busick up to fail with that name. He's a good worker, but they already have a guy that can do what he does in the ring and two guys with similar looks. He's worked under 3 different names since working with the WWE, so he'll probably end up being enhancement talent and getting them NXT house show/dark match checks.

imagine if it was reverse and the gimmick that got him over all of these years in the indies was sami zayn. He comes to the WWE and they give him an ugly mask and call him El Generico. IWC would've completely loss it :dead:
