You right OP I grew up on R&B and love songs dude to my parents.. I feel like after 2010’s all the love songs disappeared off radio.
Because they only talk about putting their feelings in their safe or icebox. They got no time for love
It’s crazy how they just erased a genre almost cuz R&B in its height moved units without crossing over.

I mean I don’t think that’s it. Cuz people they support Chris Brown even though he pop. I just don’t think no R&B isn’t being made or haven’t for a while. Is R&B dead?
Yes and no. The RnB that we grew up listening to is dead, but many subgenres grew it's place. Keeping it somewhat "afloat"

Did Chris Brown perfect the formula?

The whole "R&B Thug" thing started way before Chris.

Hell even Bobby Brown was known as "The Bad Boy of R&B".

But even the "R&B, Bad Boys", had "Boundaries".

Nowadays nothing is off the table, SMH!

Somewhere along the way Black American Music, shifted.

Both Hip Hop, and R&B started going down the path we are on now.

I remember when profanity was NOT something you would typically hear in an R&B song.
Now days, we got "Singers", singing the N-Word and Bytch this, and that.

The BAR IS LOW, REAL LOW!

The Kids don't know any better, because that is the "World" they were born into.

So "Dysfunctional" music is just "Music".
