you nikkas really hate meek that much that now y'all assume he is buying mixtape downloads :mjlol:

you gotta love the coli :russ:

:what:

Atlantic did the same thing for Wiz when Kush and Orange Juice dropped.

It's not some Meek Mill hate..... You ever wonder how/why sites like Datpiff.com get to exclusively host a particular rappers mixtape and then somehow get "swamped" with traffic and their servers seem to not work for awhile?

Do you know that Atlantic put Wiz's videos on MTV before he was officially "signed" ?

Durk "shut down the servers" but can't even get a release date after being on the label for 3 years... do you see where this is going?

If labels pay to get their artists top billing on the blogs and worldstar....why don't you think they'd pay to have their mixtapes promoted?

Warner wouldn't have benefited by promoting their artist as best as they could?

it's like y'all forget these dudes are signed to labels.... that promote their artists and do things to make sure they get the maximum return on their investment.

labels already pay to get their artists music on the radio, in commercials, on TV.... why do you think this practice doesn't apply to the internet?

He peaked, and the album he dropped at his peak sucked. So he squandered that opportunity to legitimize himself as an artist.
I like Meek, but if you don't win over these critics and writers, you're regulated to rap game B-Team

He seem comfortable, but dude hasn't really destroyed a verse since "So Sophisticated"

This is what it all boils down too. If you arent a blog darling. Your hype will not seem as big on the net. Point blank period. However Meek did have some big songs in the past few years. If you go purely off views on the net and relevance to the culture. Meek got bigger songs than Cole, Sean and those guys. But since Meek anti internet nerd, it seems like he struggling when he really aint.

"Levels" was big, the rest was just moderate success for a rapper with Meek's push.
Then he ended up squandering "Levels" by getting locked up when the song started popping.

Honestly Meek a spitter in the same vein as Cassidy and Jin, dude wasn't meant to be a full fledged artist (honestly Cass was a better artist than him, but that's an argument for another day), he really stagnated and I don't see him being the type of dude that cares about pushing himself artistically. He's probably the most successful battle rapper turned artist of our era though, and he's happy with his life now, so can't knock it.

Anyone can have their mixtape be an "exclusive" on DatPiff for 75$...

It honestly just comes down to their server size. When Facebook was just starting out it used to crash all the time. Now Facebook has their own army of servers so their shyt never fails. A site like datpiff is likely running off of a shared server or maybe one of their own.
