Meek still on MMG despite the legal wrangling/Roc Nation fukkery.

Surprised Ross didn't even try to usher in a new crop of young artists. Kinda a more extreme version of what TDE did. Sure TDE brought in SZA who is a star but overall it seems like they just let shyt stagnate. In Ross' case he just let his shyt straight up die.

they had like 25 releases in 10 years.... I think they accomplished just enough. Meek & Wale are the co-anchors of the label. Gunplay can't really stay off the drugs. Omarion thought leaving MMG would be smart (hint: it wasn't). Stalley & Rockie Fresh went indie. The others weren't really redeemable.

If we want to keep it real, MMG was never a true label/crew in the vain of past ones like RR, CMR, NL, etc. They were just a random assortment of guys that happened to be on tracks with each other and had MMG chains. They never fit together despite having bangers and such. Nobody even really seemed like they’d kick it with each other outside of music.

They did but they were always working. Ross was an artist himself and had plenty collabs with them.

now it’s all about Dreamchasers

I agree they were kind of an odd mix and didn’t seem like they really would fukk with each other musically or in real life. They had some heat for a minute though.

I think they lost something when it didn’t work out with Pill though. He was a needed element. Ross did the trap/mafioso stuff, Wale added some punchlines and wordplay, Meek brought the street/struggle stuff, and Pill brought energetic southern lyrical trap talk. The 4 of them pulled off a really good album despite being pretty different stylistically.
