Seems like it's easier to just collaborate with an established clothing company and let them assume all the financial risk. For the last decade or so that's what rappers do.

That mogul trend came and went. When one gets something on and popping the rest will dive in with their own version. I'm surprised these new kids didn't leverage their fanbase and do the same thing but it all seems name brand free advertising till they get a sponsorship or co-sign.

A lot of these younger rappers are not enterprise minded. They would trade total ownership for basically what amounts to a creative license deal or something similar. Not saying it's wrong or right just saying.
