theres plenty of it out there..
that type of music shouldn't be underground. It took a commercial to really put ALoe blacc on and even then some DJ took most of the credit for "Wake Me Up" when ALoe wrote that shyt.

Soul music has always been underground for the most part..

you're thinking pop/R&B.. two completely different genres..

but in a more succinct and more telling answer people stopped paying for soul music, so labels stopped producing and promoting soul music
